We have a little club in our city in Denmark with about 30 members. It was startet in the spring of 1997. We have 8 courses with different "terrain", but you can play petanque almost anywhere.

Petanque is a fine game. It does not claim a super condition or a big wallet. It is amusing and exciting. You get a touch of fresh air, exercise, and togetherness. So, if you sit at home and are bored on sundays, go find a club and play petanque. People play petanque all over the world.

Petanque is an outdoor game, it may be a little cold and dark in the winter (at least in Denmark), but if you dress up for it, it is all right.

A set of boules with a bag is available for about 300-400 Danish kroner (40-54 Euro) and that is about all you need. The subscription in our club amounts to 200 Danish kroner a year, Most people can afford that.

Tournaments are arranged around the country and many different people come together, but they all love the game of petanque.
